Planting and Growing Sunflowers

Coloured Flower My class planted sunflower seeds this term and then recorded the growth and development across the term.  The children who have gardens took their plants home when they got too large for the classroom.

I bought the plants belonging to those children who don't have gardens, home with me, so that they wouldn't die whilst unattended over the summer holidays. Unfortunately 1 seems to have been got by snails already! Hopefully I  will take the remaining ones back to school in September for the children to see with sunflowers on them!

There are some beautiful sunfllower paintings inspired by Van Gogh and painted by children on this school website. Inspiration for your own classroom?
