Road Safety Week LogoNational Road Safety week is organised by the charity Brake, who aim to prevent road traffic accidents through education and campaigns. Brake also support people bereaved or seriously injured through road traffic accidents.

The theme that 'Brake' have chosen for this year's Road Safety Week is 'Protect the Ones you Love'.  They would like us alll to STOP. IMAGINE. CHANGE.  This means STOP and IMAGINE what it would be like to lose a loved one in a road accident, and think about our behaviour in our cars on the road and CHANGE it for the better, to drive more safely with more awareness of the potential for accidents.

Those of us working in schools can promote safe cycling and walking. The site provides lots of free resources for schools,  and although it is too late to order them to use for this years campaign, it is never too soon, or too late to promote road safety amongst our children and the resources include free road safety posters and road safety teaching information.
