PoppyDo you want your children to be more informed about what Poppy Day is all about? Lots of resources for teaching are available on the internet to help you do that. Learn Anywhere has an informative powerpoint presentation that is aimed at Key Stage 2 (KS2), but could be simplified or parts used for Key Stage 1 (KS1). Oxford LA has produced a powerpoint that is mainly photographs than can be used to stimulate thought and discussion.

The excellent Instant Display website has a downloadable display pack to purchase at just £2, with 11 colourful posters explaining all the events in a child friendly format. Scroll down on the link.

Visit Sparklebox for some Poppy bordered paper for children to use for display work or visit the Woodlands Junior school website for some child friendly information explaining all about what Remembrance day means here in Britain.  Look at some Remembrance Day poetry or purchase vocabulary mats to support written work.

Make sure that our younger generation know what Remembrance day is all about. Lest we forget.
