We had our annual sports day planned this week, and the day arrived with a dreadful weather forecast, so I had all sorts of other activities planned and no trainers in school for the teacher’s race.

Much to the children’s delight the weather held off and the event went ahead as planned. My KS1 class had a great time, mainly because we reverted this year to the more traditional format of lots of different races. We did this in teams so that it was competitive but without any of the real losing feel.

Children and staff all had a great day and I kept all my rain plans for another day.
