Monday the 22nd September 2008 is World Car Free day.  The idea is to remind everybody that we don't have to accept living in a car dominated society and that we should try and avoid travelling by car whenever possible.

We could use this event as an opportunity to talk to our children about walking to school when they can, to save congestion on our roads and to contribute to the lowering of carbon emissions. The more aware our younger generation are of climate change issues, the more they will be able to make positive contributions as they grow older. World Car Free Day also fits in well with the aims of our School Travel Plans.
